Navratri Nights-Why I see darkness all around??

DJs..Loud Music...Latest Hindi Songs...Flashy Clothes...Tattoed Girls and a Lot of Energy!! This is what I saw on the second day of Navratri...Much to my disappointment I was missing Goddess Durga's Idol, Devotion and Sacredness in the whole affair!! Thought of a Survey and I was on my heels...

My first Victim was a girl in traditional 'ghagra choli'...I approached the teenager to ask, "Ummm...do you think there is something missing here??" She stared back with her B'ful Brown eyes just to answer,"Yes...the free cold drinks...u know they provided us with one yesterday...I don't see it today!!"
"No..No..I meant the Idol of Maa Durga or the Earthen pot??" I said...She smiled back perplexed..."Whats it gotta do here??"

I had to gift her with this info so, I continued "Well, The word “Garba” originates from the word “garbo,” which is an earthen pot with holes and a small candle inside. During Navratri, a garbo is placed in the center of the dancing area along with idols of goddesses, and people dance around it in concentric circles. The pot itself symbolizes the universe, while the light inside represents God, which is the center of the universe, and by dancing around the pot and idols, the dancers symbolize that God is also the center of their lives. The circle formation itself also has additional significance. The circle formed by dancers represents the cycle of life and its never-ending nature"
"Is it??"...now she was giving me a look as if she just saw two red horns on my head and left...Surely, that Guy in Blue she spotted was more tempting than my piece of Gyan (info).

Hmmm...So I thought let my next victim be of my age...around 24 yrs...There she was...A friend of mine, all decked up and she was carrying a lot of 'Oomph' factor..."Rashmi...!!!" I started, "Do you know what this circular formation for Garba is all about??"
"Oh...it simply looks good and in a circle you can see everyone else and everybody else can see you!!" She winked back after her answer.
"Yeah..well thought but, Rashmi these complex circular formations represent designs of lotus and other designs considered magical, religious and auspicious!!"
"Oh is it?? Wasn't knowing that"..she said casually..."Look how hot Ramesh is lookin today...I am off to join him!!" she signed off.
I walked back with heavy heart to discover such negligence and find the most pious and pure time in the complete Hindu calendar to be treated as Nine Nights of Disco, Fun and Lust!!
Why I see clouds of Darkness over the Gen X?? Is there a Silver Lining?? Help me find one then...

So...What takes your Breath away??!!

It is said,

"Life isn't about the moments of breath you take, but about the moments that take your breath away"

So...why would I want something to take my Breath away...isn't it like getting disconnected from Life...temp death...though for a few moments!!!

Its just a saying, isn't it?? But, thinking deep I've got something more to add to this term "Breath"!! So...whats it?? Well..Well..Hold your Breath People...!!!Wink

My fellow Indians...ever thought why Yoga and Meditation is ALL about Breath Control...or what have old sages mastered themselves in?? I stumbled upon this very interesting read which says..."The Creator (Brahma) allotted each one of us "Number of Breaths" and thats how our Life Span was decided!!" So, its like having Pocket Money...some get more...some get less and its all upon our usage!!

Then...as per above theory...the lesser you use your Breath Balance...the longer your Life is!! May be thats a probable reason behind telling an Angry Fella.."Take a Deep Breath Man" or "Save Your Breath Lady!!!"

May be thats why...every beautiful moment of your Life 'takes your Breath Away'...remember that first glance at your newborn...or the first kiss...or owning that Trophy you always wanted to Win!!

And the Breath Phrase from the Queen's language I like the most..."To Breathe Life into something"....Isn't that the most Beautiful thing on this Earth to do??
